Women’s History Project

Most everyone knows that February is Black History Month, but few know that March is Women’s History Month.  I want to give this project a very personal touch.  I want to create a display showing our own community’s women.  So the following is an extra credit project you may complete for an extra test grade.  The following are the requirements:

  1. You must pick a woman (any race or ethnic background) from your family or community that you find interesting, inspiring, or that you respect. Interview the woman and the people that know her.  Make sure you get their permission to tell their story.  If you choose a woman who has already died, interview the people that knew her.
  2. Write a typed one-page report telling her story. Use this size type (Microsoft word font “time new roman” 14).  It should be ready to put on the wall.
  3. Find a photograph of the woman. I will put a photocopy of the picture on the wall and return the original to you.
  4. Due Date for both report and picture is February 29th.

NOTE:  This is for a test grade, and you must produce a high quality project to get a 100 test grade.  You might want to show me the paper early so I can tell you if it is up to the test standard and suggest any changes.
