Power Program Pre-Application

Welcome to Prince George High School. We are located in Central Virginia in Prince George County. Our population consists of 10th through 12 grade county students and those who live on the Fort Lee Military Installation.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is hard to believe that the first semester has ended and what an end!  It has been a number of years since the SNOW has caused us to cancel our exams and make plans to begin the second semester without the traditional culminating activity to first semester. With report cards distributed to students in early February, you should have a pretty good idea of where your child stands in each of his/her classes academically.   If you feel the need to schedule conferences with teachers, telephone the guidance office to make arrangements so that we can begin second semester with a positive plan of action and work towards success for each and every one of our students at PGHS!  With the year being at the mid-point, please encourage your child to work hard for the remainder of the year.

At this time, we would like to remind you of graduation requirement information. It is important that we approach this milestone with a clear understanding of the progress each student is making towards his/her diploma. Current students at PGHS are eligible to earn Special, Modified, Standard, or Advanced Diplomas. Each has very specific requirements.

Graduation requirements are also important to keep in mind when registering for next year’s courses. If the correct courses are not taken, your son/daughter runs the risk of not meeting graduation requirements. The registration process will begin in March. I strongly urge parents to review with their son/daughter the requirements that one needs for securing the desired diploma. A Registration Guide will be given to your child before this time. Should you have any questions about the requirements, you are encouraged to contact the appropriate guidance counselor.

I wish our students the best of luck as we begin the second half of our school year.

Thank you Parents/Guardians, for all you do for your children and PGHS.

Together we can make a difference!
