Welcome to Prince George High School. We are located in Central Virginia in Prince George County. Our population consists of 10th through 12 grade county students and those who live on the Fort Lee Military Installation.

Parents/Guardians:

March is the start of class registration for the next academic year. Your son/daughter will be meeting with a counselor to plan the courses needed for graduation requirements. Please speak with your child about the proposed schedule before signing and returning it to guidance. Should you have any questions or concerns, I encourage you to speak with your son/daughter's counselor.

This is also the time of year for the Standards of Learning tests. It is critical for the students to achieve a passing score. A passing score will mean a verified credit (provided the student also passes the course work) and possible exemption from the teacher-made end-of-year exam. Students can earn either an advanced or a standard high school diploma after earning a specified number of course and verified credits.

A reminder to parents of graduating seniors-At least one parent and the graduating senior must attend a required parents' meeting on either April 2, April 18, or April 24 at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium. Failture to attend will result in the senior not being allowed to participate in graduation. Graduation is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, at the PGHS Athletic Stadium.

Please come out to support the Royals! We look forward to having you attend our sporting games, extracurricular activities, and school events.

EXAM SCHEDULE & INFORMATION

SOL TESTING: May 14-24

The Standards of Learning (SOL) for Virginia Public Schools establish minimum expectations for what students should know and be able to do at the end of each grade or course in English, mathematics, science, history/social science, technology, the fine arts, foreign language, health/physical education and driver education.

Annual assessments – including SOL tests and alternative assessments – provide information on individual student achievement including those with special needs.
